The government has expanded the official housing provision program. From now on, doctors can receive an apartment or a house not only in rural areas but also in frontline cities, in particular in settlements of Kherson, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions.
This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
It is noted that 100 million hryvnias are allocated in the state budget for 2026 for the implementation of this program.
In addition, the state has expanded support for young doctors who, after completing their internship, go to work in rural areas or frontline communities. They can receive a one-time payment of 200 thousand hryvnias.
“These decisions have one goal: to ensure that people in frontline communities can continue to receive medical care nearby, and that medical workers have the resources, motivation and the opportunity to remain working where they are most needed,” the ministry said.
Earlier, the head of the Kherson MVA Yaroslav Shanko reported that healthcare institutions in Kherson are staffed with medical specialists at 50%.
