In the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast, retail alcohol sales will be banned from May 1 to May 9.
This was reported by Russia-controlled media citing the so-called Ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to the announcement, alcoholic beverages will not be sold in stores on these days. At the same time, the ban will not apply to cafes, restaurants and bars.
The occupying authorities are threatening penalties for violations of the established restrictions.
Recall, last year a “law” was adopted in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson Oblast that regulates retail sale of alcoholic beverages.
Thus, the “law” prohibits the sale of alcohol in certain places, establishes requirements for the area of trading premises: 20 sq. m in cities and 15 sq. m in rural areas, and also prohibits the sale of alcohol on “festive” dates that correspond to the Russian calendar: January 25, May 1, May 9, June 1, the last bell day, June 12, June 27, September 1, November 4.
