In the Kherson region, a suspicion was announced against Russian serviceman Denys Andriiauskas, who tortured civilians in the Beryslav district.
This is stated on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, Denys Andriiauskas — a citizen of the Russian Federation who served as a senior rifleman in the 34th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation.
In March 2022, while on the territory of the occupied Beryslav district, he was involved in the abuse of a security guard of a local enterprise whom the occupiers detained at a checkpoint.
The victim was illegally held first on the premises of a pig farm in the village of Liubymivka, and later in the Bilyaivskyi lyceum.
According to the police, while escorting him, Andriiauskas beat the man in an attempt to obtain information about the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, other kidnapped civilians were kept in total darkness, in unsanitary premises without furniture or proper places to sleep, and were restricted in access to water and food.
For these actions, Denys Andriiauskas has been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He is accused of cruel treatment of the civilian population and other violations of the laws and customs of war, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy.
