The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, said that the situation in the Kherson region remains tense, and the threat of a new offensive by Russian forces in southern Ukraine is quite real.
He said this in an interview with the German publication Berliner Morgenpost.
According to him, the intensity of fighting in the neighboring Zaporizhzhia region is increasing, and this may indicate preparations for a broader offensive campaign.
Prokudin believes that an intensification of attacks in the Kherson region is possible as early as this summer.
Recall, since the start of the full-scale invasion across the territory of Kherson region, 700,000 shells have been fired.
In addition, during January of this year, as a result of Russian shelling of the Kherson community 18 people were killed, and another 96 were wounded. Among the victims were five children.
