The court handed down a sentence to the former deputy director for educational work of the Kherson Higher Vocational School of Service and Design, Olena Adamishyna, who during the occupation of the city voluntarily sided with the Russian Federation (RF).
This is stated in the court verdict.
The investigation found that in the summer of 2022 Russian forces seized the school’s building and established their own educational institution on its premises.
After the school was seized, Adamishyna remained working at the institution, taking the position of lecturer in garment construction and went to special courses in occupied Crimea to learn how to teach according to the Russian curriculum.
She translated study plans from Ukrainian into Russian, prepared texts of speeches for assemblies, and kept all documentation in line with the requirements of the RF, the document states.
During searches of her office and home, Ukrainian law enforcement officers found Russian flags, notebooks with RF insignia, and a batch of Russian textbooks.
Former colleagues who testified in court said that Adamishyna worked with the RF voluntarily. While most teachers refused to cooperate, receiving payments from Ukraine for downtime, she received her salary in rubles.
The court in absentia found Olena Adamishyna guilty of collaborationist activity. She was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment without confiscation of property.
