In the future the foundations of three “underground schools” in Kherson will be dismantled.
This was reported on social media by the head of the Kherson MVA, Yaroslav Shanko.
According to him, after the funds that were paid for poor-quality construction are returned to the city budget, the facilities are to be dismantled, since at least one of the “underground schools” was built from the very beginning in violation of the project documentation and cannot be used as a school shelter.
Recall, this concerns three underground schools in Kherson that began to be built in the autumn of 2024. As MOST found out, one of them was started without the necessary permits.
The construction caused protests by local residents, who considered it a possible target for Russian shelling.
The former head of the MVA Roman Mrochko actively supported the construction of the “underground schools” in Kherson. One of the reasons for his dismissal was this construction scandal.
One of the shelters was to be built by Kherson LLC “Будпостач-СТСВ”, whose management, according to MOST, was close to Mrochko’s circle.
However, after the arrest of the company’s director the contract with “Будпостач-СТСВ” was terminated and was “transferred” to another company – LLC “Мегаплан Фаст”, which, having performed no work, received over UAH 5.7 million from the budget.
Since July of last year Kherson police have been conducting an investigation into possible abuses in the construction of all three shelters on school premises.
At the end of last year the head of the Kherson OVA Oleksandr Prokudin said in an interview with MOST that the “underground schools” in Kherson were built incorrectly from the very beginning – there were missing several layers of reinforcement and concrete.
