As of January 1, 2026, pension payments have been suspended in Ukraine for 337 thousand people. This decision concerns exclusively those categories of citizens who did not comply with the legislative requirements for verification. In particular, it refers to pensioners who did not undergo mandatory in-person identification by the end of 2025 or did not inform the Pension Fund that they are not receiving similar payments from the Russian Federation.
This is written on the PFU website.
To date, pension files of persons whose payment receipt addresses are still listed as localities in temporarily occupied territories remain in question. This also applies to those who left the occupation but did not provide the PFU with official confirmation that they do not receive payments from the aggressor country. Without this information, the state cannot continue to credit payments in accordance with current security and financial monitoring rules.
“Despite large-scale suspensions, the process of restoring payments is already underway. Some pensioners received their money in January, and more than 48 thousand people will see reinstated payments in February”, – the article says.
If payments were suspended at the beginning of the year due to failure to undergo identification, they can be resumed. To do this, the pensioner must confirm their identity by any convenient method: by a personal visit to a PFU service center or «Ощадбанк», via video call, or through the electronic cabinet on the Pension Fund portal using «Дія.Підпис». After successful verification, the arrears will be paid in full.
