A court in Mykolaiv has permitted an in absentia investigation into the head of one of Kherson’s kindergartens, who is suspected of cooperating with the Russian occupation authorities and implementing the educational standards of the Russian Federation.
This was reported by Intent, citing the ruling of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.
According to the investigation, after the start of the full-scale invasion the woman took charge of the captured kindergarten No. 60 in Kherson.
While serving as the so-called head, she began converting the institution to Russian standards: she changed the language of administration, removed Ukrainian symbols, introduced Russian Federation educational programs, and organized screenings of Russian cartoons for the children.
Investigators also established that the woman forced kindergarten staff to comply with the demands of the occupation administration – to equip the premises according to Russian norms, to remove Ukrainian educational materials, and to transfer property from other preschool institutions. The staff’s salaries, according to the investigation, were paid in Russian rubles.
The court allowed the investigation to be conducted in absentia, since the suspect is located in temporarily occupied territory and does not appear before investigators. Information about her is to be published on the official resources of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
