Kherson athletes who earned the right to represent Ukraine at the XXV Summer Deaflympic Games 2025 in Tokyo, Japan, will receive one-time scholarships from the regional authorities.
The corresponding order was signed by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.
Each of the athletes will receive 100,000 hryvnias. Scholarships are awarded to Denys Trehubenko and Anastasiia Dytiatkova.
The Deaflympic Games are international sports competitions for athletes with hearing impairments. They are held under the auspices of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) and take place every four years, both summer and winter games.
Various sports are represented at the Deaflympics, including athletics, swimming, judo, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and many others. Athletes compete in categories taking into account their sporting skills and the specifics of the competitions.
