The Humanitarian Demining Center made the first payment under a contract within the framework of the state program for compensation of demining costs. The compensation was received by the agricultural company «First of May» in Kherson Oblast, which cleared over 1,150 hectares of land, involving specialists from «Ukroboronservice» in March–April 2023.
This is stated on the Ministry of Economy’s website.
The cost of the work amounted to nearly UAH 6 million, of which the farmer was reimbursed 80% — UAH 4.76 million.
The plot for which compensation was provided is located in Beryslav Raion of Kherson Oblast. During the Russian invasion in 2022, part of the holdings was damaged as a result of fighting; equipment and livestock facilities were destroyed.
It is noted that the state program for compensation of the cost of humanitarian demining allows farmers who plan land clearance to receive 100% of the cost of the work. Those who carried out demining from 24 February 2022 to 15 April 2024 are reimbursed 80% of the amount. Applications are submitted through the State Agrarian Register.
Individuals and self-employed persons in the agricultural sector can also benefit from the compensation — the corresponding changes were adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Earlier we wrote that the former head of the state concern “Ukroboronprom”, Roman Romanov, who now lives in the USA, and six other entrepreneurs were granted individual land exemptions for 2023.
