Maksym Tkachenko, a pupil of the Kherson Youth Sports School for Chess and Checkers of the Kherson City Council, won a prize at an international blitz chess tournament in Brașov.

The competition «Festivalul Șah în Școală – Cupa Iepurașului – AFI Brașov» took place on April 18, 2026. The athlete competed in tournament C and placed second.
Recall that representatives of the Kherson region won 2 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze medals at the Ukrainian Cup and national junior competitions in kayak and canoe racing, dedicated to the memory of Olympic champion Yuliia Ryabchynska.
