In the temporarily occupied Oleshky on the left bank of Kherson region, the Russian authorities announce plans to develop residential construction. This concerns the comprehensive construction of apartment buildings in the city.
Occupying sources report this.
Representatives of the Russian Institute of Spatial Planning discussed such plans together with the occupying administration. In particular, they state the need for comprehensive territorial development and expansion of the housing stock.
Furthermore, the Russians are considering opportunities to develop tourism in the region.
At the same time, the real situation in the city remains critical. According to Ukraine’s Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, the humanitarian situation in Oleshky is rapidly deteriorating.
The city lacks stable electricity and gas supply, and access to drinking water is limited. People are forced to conserve basic resources, and food deliveries are often complicated due to the danger of shelling.
According to Ukrainian authorities, in Oleshky still more than 8,000 residents remain. Some of them are forced to find food on their own, including hunting wild animals.
The Ukrainian authorities appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross urging it to help organize a humanitarian corridor for evacuating civilians and ensuring access for aid.
Despite this, the local illegal leadership does not acknowledge that the city has serious humanitarian problems, and claims that there are no evacuation measures for the population there.
