On the left bank of the Kherson region the occupiers announced the start of voter registration for the so-called “preliminary voting” of the “United Russia” party. This year they plan to hold it in electronic format.
Pro-Russian media report this.
Registration will be open until 29 May via the Russian portal “Gosuslugi”, and the “voting” itself is scheduled from 25 to 31 May. The occupiers also “offer” residents of the liberated right-bank part of the region to take part.
Earlier we wrote that the Russian Federation is preparing to hold elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. The voting is scheduled for 20 September 2026.
The first to submit documents for the primaries was the first deputy of the occupation head of the Kherson Regional Duma Olena Dmytruk.
Ukraine and the international community have repeatedly emphasized that any Russian “elections” in temporarily occupied territories are illegal, and their results have no legal force. Organizing and participating in such events constitutes aiding the occupiers and entails criminal liability.
