A joint project of the Kherson Regional Military Administration (RMA) and UN agencies is starting in the Kherson region, aimed at demining agricultural lands and supporting farmers.
The launch of the initiative was announced following a meeting of the head of the Kherson RMA, Oleksandr Prokudin, with international partners.
The project involves bringing in foreign technical assistance to clear fields of explosive ordnance, the number of which in the region remains critical.
At the same time as demining, a direct financial support program is launching: 110 local farms with land holdings from 3 to 300 hectares will receive assistance in surveying plots and special vouchers.
The vouchers are denominated from 2 to 6 thousand dollars. Farmers will be able to use these funds to purchase seed material and mineral fertilizers to restore the production cycle.
Earlier we wrote that for Kherson farmers state compensations were increased.
