The 34th Marine Brigade may soon receive an honorary title.
Brigade commander Dmytro Pulinets said this in an interview with the 1+1 TV channel.
According to him, the name “Borysfen” may soon be added to the brigade’s name.
When this will happen is not known for sure, but Pulinets says such a possibility is quite likely.
Judging by his own words, the interview was recorded on March 16, 2026.
The brigade’s official resources have not yet reported the honorary title.
Note that the honorary title of a military unit — is an additional name bestowed by a Decree of the President of Ukraine to commemorate the memory of prominent persons, historical events, or places.
It becomes part of the official name. Borysfen (грец. Βορυσθένης) — is the ancient Greek name of the Dnipro River. In antiquity this term meant «one that flows from the north». In a broader context, Borysfen is associated with the ancient culture of the Northern Black Sea region.
