Tennis player from the Kherson region Angelina Kalinina suffered a defeat in a Ukrainian derby against Daria Snigur in the qualifying of the WTA 250 tournament in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The Ukrainian tennis players were placed in the same draw and met in the very first round of qualifying. For both, this tournament was their first since the 2026 Australian Open.
The match ended with Snigur’s victory in two sets — 6:3, 6:1.
Recall, in December last year Angelina Kalinina reached the final of the tournament of the WTA 125 in Limoges, France, defeating in the semifinal the top seed — the Spaniard Cristina Bucsa.
