The former mayor of Kherson, former Kremlin captive Volodymyr Mykolayenko will be a speaker at a commemorative event in Nicosia (Cyprus) dedicated to the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The meeting will take place on February 24 at 18:00 at the Strovolos Municipal Theatre at the initiative of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Cyprus.
This was reported on the embassy’s Facebook page.
Volodymyr Mykolayenko will speak as a participant in a panel discussion. Together with him, the topic of treatment of prisoners and their release will be discussed by the head of the regional center of the Coordination Headquarters, Yuliia Pavlyuk, and Dmytro Khilyuk, a journalist for the UNIAN agency who was freed from captivity.
As part of the event, a photo exhibition is also planned: works by American journalist Zarina Zabrisky titled “Kherson during the war” will be exhibited.
The event is being carried out in partnership with the organization Voice of Ukraine, the Coordination Headquarters on the Treatment of Prisoners of War, and the NGO “UA Experts”.
Recall, in November 2025 Volodymyr Mykolayenko, the former mayor of Kherson, sent a letter of support to Kherson residents who are being illegally tried in the Russian Federation.
