A high mine danger persists in the Velykooleksandrivska community of the Kherson region.
This was reported on the page of the Velykooleksandrivska settlement council, citing the local representation of the international humanitarian demining organization The HALO Trust.
According to the humanitarian organization, the presence of anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, as well as unexploded ordnance, has been confirmed near a number of settlements in the community.
This concerns the areas near the villages of Bezvodne, Bilohirka, Bruskynske, Davydiv Brid, Ishchenka, Karierne, Kostromka, Mala Oleksandrivka, Shchaslyve, Starosillia, Stiyke and Zahradivka.
It is noted that the total area of confirmed mine contamination amounts to over 3 million km2.
