The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a decree that made indefinite the special procedure for submitting documents to obtain Russian citizenship for residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
This is reported by media controlled by the Kremlin.
Specifically, it concerns residents of the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
A simplified procedure for acquiring Russian citizenship for these territories was introduced after the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022.
Note that, according to the occupation authorities, in the territory of Kherson region more than 250,000 Russian passports were issued, and in March of last year the mass passportization reportedly ended, but the Russians continue to impose on residents of the occupied territories the need to obtain Russian citizenship.
It was previously reported that the Russian Federation extended the simplified procedure for recruitment to the occupation bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
