A resident of the Kherson region who during the occupation headed an illegal administration in Tyahynka was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The Kherson regional prosecutor’s office reported this.
According to the investigation, in July 2022, during the temporary occupation of the village of Tyahynka in Beryslav district, the woman voluntarily took the position of the so‑called head of the Tyahynka village council of the military‑civilian administration.
In that pseudo‑position she managed the activities of the occupation village council, formed its apparatus and organized work according to Russian standards. In particular, she ensured the circulation of rubles in the community, oversaw the implementation of the Russian educational program and aided the formation of a teaching staff loyal to the occupying authorities.
Also, according to the investigation, she organized a population census and insisted that local residents obtain Russian passports.
The court found her guilty under part 5 of Article 111‑1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — voluntarily taking a position in an illegal authority.
In addition to 10 years of imprisonment, the convicted woman was deprived of the right to hold positions in government bodies, local self‑government and institutions that provide public services for a period of 15 years.
The verdict was delivered in absentia. She will serve the sentence after her arrest.
Recall, the SBU reported suspicion against Oksana Kryzhanivska, a member of the illegal precinct election commission No.50 in Brylivka in the Kherson region.
