Kherson Oblast has entered the list of regions with the lowest average cost of higher education in Ukraine.
This is reported by the educational portal Education.ua.
According to its data, the average cost of tuition in Kherson region is 22 315 UAH. Also among the regions with the lowest prices were Mykolaiv Oblast (22 640 UAH), Zaporizhzhia Oblast (22 780 UAH), Poltava Oblast (23 506 UAH) and Sumy Oblast (24 124 UAH).
At the same time, the highest education prices are recorded in the western regions and Kyiv Oblast. In particular, in Chernivtsi Oblast the average cost of tuition is 37 800 UAH, in Lviv Oblast — 37 480 UAH, in Kyiv Oblast — 37 308 UAH, in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast — 35 828 UAH, in Zakarpattia Oblast — 34 504 UAH.
Analysts link this difference to increased demand for education in safer regions.
The most expensive programs traditionally remain specialties in medicine, dentistry, international relations, law, IT and the arts — despite their high cost, they attract significant competition every year.
By contrast, the lowest prices are recorded for fields that the state considers critically important for the economy and reconstruction — in particular, railway transport, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, energy and agricultural specialties.
