Law enforcement authorities have, in absentia, notified a resident of Henichesk of suspicion of possible involvement in organizing the so-called Russian presidential elections in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson Oblast.
This was reported on the website of the Kherson regional prosecutor’s office.
According to the investigation, in December 2023 the woman headed the so-called precinct election commission in occupied Henichesk. She was responsible for the preparation and conduct of the pseudo-elections organized by the occupying authorities.
Investigators established that she formed the commission’s membership, selected personnel and coordinated their work. She also oversaw the setup of the polling station, including the placement of voting booths, campaign materials and Russian symbols.
In addition, the woman took part in the accounting of ballots and was responsible for their transfer to the so-called territorial election commission.
According to the prosecutor’s office, she also gave interviews to pro-Russian media in which she publicly supported the aggressor state.
She was informed of suspicion of collaborationist activity (Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
