President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia has already set the task of ensuring the possibility of voting for Ukrainians who are on the territory of the Russian Federation and in temporarily occupied territories.
The head of state reported this citing Ukrainian intelligence data.
According to him, the Kremlin uses such actions as an instrument for further statements about the alleged illegitimacy of the Ukrainian authorities.
“They are doing this so that later they can say that Russia does not recognize these elections. Russia will, in any case, find a way to convey the message about the illegitimacy of the Ukrainian authorities,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, the president emphasized that it is Russia that is the illegitimate state, which systematically uses such informational and political manipulations to promote its own narratives.
Earlier, Zelensky said that he is ready for the elections and called on the United States to help guarantee security for holding them.
