The Irpin community laid to rest 45-year-old serviceman Oleksiy Haran, who was killed while carrying out a combat mission.
This was reported by the mayor of Irpin, Oleksandr Markushyn.
Oleksiy Haran was originally from Kherson, but in 2022, after the occupation of the city, his family moved to Irpin.
In 2023 he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The serviceman took part in battles on difficult sections of the front in the east and north of the country — in Luhansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts.
For his service and combat merits, Oleksiy Haran was awarded the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s distinction “Golden Cross”.
The defender was killed on March 27, 2026, in the Sumy region.
Earlier it was reported that in the Bilozerska community of Kherson region laid to rest the deceased serviceman Viktor Kolisnichenko, born in 1973.
