This Friday in Vienna, the exhibition “Temporary Paradise” will open, curated by the art historian from Kherson, Alya Segal.
The artist announced this on her social media.
The exhibition will take place at the PART studio as part of an international residency where Alya Segal is currently working.

It is noted that the project reconsiders the idea of “paradise” in contemporary political and personal conditions, exploring its fragility and the ways in which it can be imagined today.
Alya Segal works with contemporary Ukrainian art and focuses on alternative exhibition formats, community engagement practices, and the role of art during wartime. During the residency in Vienna, she collaborates with Ukrainian artists living in Austria and is also establishing new professional connections.

“Working in a different context allows you to look at your practice from a distance, reassess its boundaries, and build new translocal connections,” the curator notes.
Additionally, on April 5 she will co-organize the memorial exhibition “In Memory of Shcheznyk” at Arka Arka, dedicated to the artist Margarita Polovinko.
Moreover, Segal is simultaneously working on long-term curatorial research and a master’s thesis.
