The mayor of Kherson, Ihor Kolykhaiev, who was kidnapped by Russians, may be held in a colony in the city of Kizel in Perm Krai, Russia.
This was reported on social networks by former Kherson mayor Volodymyr Mykolayenko.
According to him, a former captive who was in the same cell with Kolykhaiev told him this.
As of the end of 2024, Kolykhaiev may have been located in Kizel.
“It is clear that no one is healthy in captivity, but he is holding on”, – wrote Mykolayenko, referring to the words of his interlocutor.
Recall, Ihor Kolykhaiev was kidnapped by Russian forces during the occupation of Kherson in 2022.
At the end of last year, the son of the Kherson mayor, Sviatoslav Kolykhaiev, reported that his father was being held in Perm Krai in harsh conditions. According to him, Kolykhaiev was subjected to beatings, has health problems and spent some time in an infirmary.
Note that the city of Kizel is located in Perm Krai of the Russian Federation, approximately 240–270 km from Perm, in the foothills of the Urals. In the city and its surroundings a number of institutions of the Russian penitentiary system operate. In particular, colony-settlement No. 26 is located there.
