In Kherson, residents’ complaints are being recorded about locked shelters during air-raid alerts and shelling.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko.
According to him, denying people access to protective structures is unacceptable in conditions of hostilities and constant shelling. He emphasized that shelters must be open and accessible to all community residents.
Shanko appealed to those responsible for the shelters and to the heads of condominium associations (OSBB) with a demand to ensure unobstructed access to protective structures. The official also noted that preventing people from accessing shelters carries administrative and criminal liability.
Currently civil protection specialists, together with the police, are conducting raids to inspect problematic shelters. They are also dismantling locks that were installed by those responsible
If closed shelters are discovered, residents are asked to report to the police at 102 or contact the unified contact center at 0800 101 102.
Recall, we recently wrote that in Kherson they installed four more mobile shelters. In total, during the past year in the region, according to the OVA, 77 such mobile structures were installed.
