Doctors of the Kherson Regional Hospital saved the life of a 57-year-old man by performing a complex heart operation — radiofrequency ablation of areas of the left atrium.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
The patient was admitted to the hospital with a dangerous heart rhythm disorder, and his life was at risk. Thanks to the coordinated work of cardiologists, the heart rhythm was completely restored, the post says.
This is the first such operation performed at the regional hospital under martial law. Previously, similar interventions were carried out only at the cardiology center, but their work was suspended because of the war.
“To restore the ability to perform such operations, doctors underwent special training, and the medical facility purchased modern electrophysiological equipment and opened a new laboratory. A queue of patients who also need similar treatment is currently being formed,” — the OVA said.
Earlier we wrote that in September doctors in the Kherson region performed a unique operation.
