Law enforcement officers have notified the so-called “Miss Kherson Region” Kateryna Popovchuk of suspicion, who voluntarily took a leadership position in an occupation authority on the left bank of the Kherson region.
This is stated in the text of the suspicion, which is published on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, no later than June 27, 2024, Kateryna Popovchuk took the position of occupation-appointed head of the environmental education department in the so-called Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Fisheries of Kherson Oblast.
In that pseudo-post she carried out organizational and managerial as well as administrative and economic functions in the village of Shchaslyvtseve, Henichesk district of Kherson Oblast.
Thus, Kateryna Popovchuk was notified of suspicion under part 5 of article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — collaborationist activity.
Note that Kateryna Popovchuk was born in Henichesk and is a citizen of Ukraine. Her father Yevheniy Popovchuk, a former deputy from OPZZh, after the full-scale invasion went on to cooperate with the occupying authorities and received the position of director of the Azovo-Syvash National Nature Park, which was illegally re-registered under Russian law.
Earlier we wrote that the so-called “Miss Kherson Region” Kateryna Popovchuk denies her affiliation with the new elite in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region.
