It would take more than three years to cover all of Kherson with anti-drone nets.
This was said on Radio Hartiya by the deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Tolokonnikov.
“We cover the logistics routes that cross the city and the access roads, but to cover all of Kherson, even three years would not be enough. First, there are not enough people to work under constant attacks by drones, artillery and everything else. Second, this requires time and money,” Tolokonnikov noted.
According to him, infrastructure in the city — wires, trolleybus lines, trees — prevents putting up the nets.
“You have to saw everything, prepare it to hang the nets, close driveways, make passages under the net. And all these additional entrances, exits, and driveways under the net are additional routes for drones. Lately we’ve seen that near Silpo a drone flew under the net, near the dental clinic a drone flew under the net. So if there are openings under the net, drones can also easily get in there and attack vehicles,” said the deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.
Recall, according to KhOVA data, in Kherson about 700 devices for neutralizing Russian drones are operating.
