The Security Service of Ukraine announced suspicion against 54-year-old native of Kakhovka Olena Hrushetska, whom the investigation considers involved in cooperation with the occupational authorities in the temporarily seized territory of Kherson region.
The text of the suspicion was published on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, in August 2023 Hrushetska underwent training under a program at the base of the Russian Academy of Public Administration in temporarily occupied Crimea. After that, on November 7, 2023, she allegedly voluntarily took the position of head of the culture department in the occupation administration of the Kakhovka municipal district (a territorial unit introduced by the occupying authorities, analogous to a community, – MOST) of Kherson region.
The SBU charges her with part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (voluntarily taking a position in illegal authorities in an occupied territory) and part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assistance to the aggressor state).
According to the investigation’s version, while in the position, Hrushetska participated in organizing and conducting pro-Russian events, in particular the so-called “Victory Dictation” and an event for the anniversary of the Battle of Borodino. Also, as law enforcement officers claim, she initiated actions during which narratives of the aggressor state were disseminated.
Furthermore, according to the SBU, the suspect implemented Russian standards of cultural policy in the occupied territory, in particular the creation of a centralized library system and the formation of a register of cultural objects to bring them to a “single Russian standard”.
Earlier we wrote that law enforcement officers reported a suspicion to Khrestivka resident Tetiana Shymanska of collaborationist activity on the temporarily occupied territory of the Kakhovka district of Kherson region.
