The Security Service of Ukraine has notified a Russian citizen, Kateryna Mekhanetsidis, of suspicion; she assisted the Russian Armed Forces in fighting against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This is reported on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, Mekhanetsidis is the founder of the charitable foundation “Two Majors”, which under the guise of volunteer aid actually became an instrument for financing Russian aggression.
Thus, in January this year the woman personally delivered to units of the Russian troops on the territory of occupied Kherson region a consignment of quadcopters and other special equipment that was used to conduct hostilities against the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as to destroy critical infrastructure facilities. Later Mekhanetsidis also handed over vehicles to the occupiers.
In addition, she supplied weapons, equipment and machinery to the Russian Armed Forces that occupy Ukrainian territories on other sectors of the front, in particular in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
For these actions she is suspected in absentia under Part 4 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (financing actions aimed at changing the boundaries of the territory or the state border of Ukraine).
