In Rostov-on-Don, the Southern District Military Court extended the detention of three Ukrainian citizens for another six months. The occupiers accuse them of preparing an assassination attempt on the so-called head of the occupation administration of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo.
Pro-Russian media report this.
Besides the episode with Saldo, the Russian investigation accuses the men of murdering two local public figures who cooperated with the occupiers. The occupation justice system has brought a number of charges against the Ukrainians, including “participation in a terrorist community”, “an act of international terrorism” and illegal circulation of weapons and explosives.
It should be noted that this likely refers to events of June 2022. At that time an explosion occurred at the Kherson restaurant “Nostalgie”.
At that time it was claimed that this restaurant was frequently visited by representatives of the occupation authorities of the Kherson region, including Saldo. Therefore, an explosive device was allegedly planted there to eliminate one of the pseudo-officials.
Last year this restaurant was completely destroyed as a result of a fire following a Russian shelling.
