The President of Russia signed a law that provides for increased social guarantees for judges whom the Russian Federation appointed in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including in Kherson Oblast.
This was reported by Kremlin-controlled media.
This concerns judges of the so-called federal courts created by Russian authorities in the occupied territories. The period of service of such judges during the full-scale war will be counted double toward their length of service.
It should be noted that the activities of the occupation courts are considered illegal, and employees of these institutions bear criminal liability. Thus, a former Crimean judge who headed the occupation court in Kherson was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
