A resident of the Zaporizhzhia region who carried out technical supervision of the repair of the local history museum in Vysokopillia has been notified of suspicion of official negligence. As a result of his negligence, the community’s budget suffered losses.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, in December 2023 the technical supervision engineer signed a contract with the Vysokopillia Local History Museum, which was being repaired after damage caused by Russian aggression. He was supposed to monitor the scope and quality of the work and the compliance of the materials used with the cost estimate and construction standards.
However, the man negligently performed his duties: without checking the actual work carried out, he signed the certificate of completed works, which did not correspond to the real scope and the materials used. As a result, the contractor’s service costs were overstated by more than 350,000 UAH, which caused losses to the Vysokopillia community’s budget.
The investigation continues as part of a criminal proceeding concerning the repair of the museum premises valued at almost 1.9 million UAH, which the institution had previously ordered from LLC “Construction and Restoration”.
It should be recalled that the director of this contracting firm is suspected of forging official documents, into which he entered false information about the scope of the work.
