On the left bank of Kherson Oblast, the occupying authorities created a so-called register of monuments of regional significance.
This is reported by pro-Russian media.
According to them, the list includes 34 objects, of which 16 are classified as monuments of the “Great Patriotic War”.
In addition, the occupation authorities claim that their so-called department for the protection of cultural heritage was established in April 2026, so there are no funds for the restoration or renovation of monuments.
Recall that in 2025 the occupying governor of Kherson Oblast Volodymyr Saldo promised to restore all monuments on the left bank of the Oblast dedicated to the Second World War.
In June 2025 the occupiers opened in Henichesk a monument to the Soviet military figure and partisan commander of the Second World War Sydir Kovpak.
