In the Kherson region, up to 25 emergency medical teams operate daily, handling up to 200 calls.
This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Last year the service received almost 69,000 calls, carried out 47,800 dispatches, and transported 14,800 patients to hospitals.
It is noted that in 2026 funding for emergency medicine will increase to UAH 13.1 billion under the Medical Guarantees Program. Motivational bonuses for working in difficult security conditions have also been introduced: the average salary of a doctor is almost UAH 45,000, a paramedic — about UAH 41,000, an emergency medical technician — almost UAH 28,000.
Work is also ongoing in the region to strengthen the security and autonomy of hospitals: “underground hospitals” are being created, emergency departments are being reconstructed, generators, autonomous boiler houses and alternative water supply sources are being installed. In some facilities solar generation is already in operation.
Earlier it was reported that in Kherson there is not a single hospital or polyclinic that was not affected by Russian shelling.
Overall, according to the OVA, on the right bank of the region almost all hospitals in the area have been damaged, however in the Kherson region 42 healthcare institutions continue to operate, which include about 130 medical facilities. Approximately 2,200 specialists provide medical assistance to residents, among them about 670 doctors.
