In Kherson Oblast, they plan to create two new protected areas.
This was reported by the Department of Environmental Protection of the Kherson Regional State Administration following a working meeting with representatives of the Kochubeyivska Rural Military Administration.
It concerns the botanical reserves «Pryhirskyi» and «Natalynskyi», which are planned to be located in Beryslav Raion.
According to the department, the reserve «Pryhirskyi» is proposed to be given the status of national importance. Its area will be 393.5 hectares and will encompass the terrace of the Inhulets River and the adjacent ravines.
Meanwhile, the area near the village of Natalyne is planned to be declared the local «Natalynskyi» reserve covering more than 340 hectares.
It is noted that these territories have unique landscape diversity, are part of the Emerald Network of Ukraine, and contain rare plant communities and habitats listed in international and regional conservation lists.
