In the Kherson region, identification of the bodies of the deceased is ongoing. Some fragments were sent for repeated examinations due to the inability to establish DNA profiles.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
It is noted that currently unidentified body fragments are being stored in forensic institutions. Some DNA profiles have already been established and entered into the Electronic Register of Genomic Information.
Law enforcement officers continue to retrieve and repatriate bodies in the de-occupied territories, and are also determining the circumstances of people’s deaths.
The Kherson Regional Military Administration also emphasized that designated plots in the region’s community cemeteries have been allocated for the burial of fallen soldiers. In addition to local memorial sites, families can initiate burial at the National Military Memorial Cemetery.
