Ruslan Alimkhanov, the guard of the occupiers’ torture chamber in Kherson, was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Alimkhanov – a serviceman of the Russian National Guard (RF) who, during the occupation of Kherson, was a guard in the torture chamber set up by the occupiers in the captured temporary detention facility. He personally escorted at least four civilians to interrogations where people were tortured and forced to confess to aiding the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to provide information about members of the territorial defense.
In addition, the Russian National Guardsman took part in abuses of the victims who were held in cells in unsanitary conditions, without proper food, places to sleep, or access to hygiene products.
As a result of the torture carried out with the participation of the convict, one of the victims sustained severe bodily injuries and died in a cell of the detention facility.
The court found Alimkhanov guilty under Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 1 of Art. 438 and Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 5 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 438 (war crimes combined with intentional murder, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, as well as aiding in the commission of these crimes) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
