Kherson City Court has delivered a verdict against the former employee of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kherson Oblast, Halyna Anufriieva, who agreed to work in the occupying structure.
This is stated in the court’s verdict.
As the investigation established, in the summer of 2022 the woman, while in occupied Kherson, voluntarily agreed to an offer from representatives of the Russian occupation administration and took the position of head of the accruals department in the so-called Department of Labor and Social Policy of Kherson.
After the reorganization of the illegal body she continued to work in a similar structure and remained in the position until November 2022.
The investigation established that the accused performed organizational and managerial functions: she managed the work of the department, controlled the calculation of pensions and social payments, and also checked documents for the assignment of benefits under Russian legislation.
In September 2023 the woman was detained by Ukrainian law enforcement. Since then she has been in custody.
Anufriieva was present at the court hearing and did not admit her guilt.
She stated that before the full-scale invasion she worked in the Ukrainian social protection administration, and after the occupation allegedly continued to perform the same work, helping low-income citizens. According to her, she acted out of considerations of survival and considered her activities lawful, although she received her salary in rubles.
Interviewed witnesses said that Anufriieva allegedly voluntarily remained to work in the occupation body. There she had her own office, managed the department and calculated benefits for people.
In addition, according to witnesses, the woman invited colleagues to work in the administration of the occupying authorities.
The court found Halyna Anufriieva guilty of collaboration activities (part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). She was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment without confiscation of property. She was also deprived of the 13th rank of a local self-government official.
