Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) have announced suspicion against former employee of the Northern Correctional Colony No. 90, Yevhen Kolomoychenko. The man is accused of siding with the Russian Federation and voluntarily working in an illegal law enforcement body.
This is stated in the text of the suspicion, which is published on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation materials, Kolomoychenko worked since 2018 as a junior inspector in the supervision and security department of the Ukrainian penitentiary system.
In May 2022 he voluntarily applied to the occupying administration with an application to be accepted into service.
Initially Kolomoychenko assumed the position of junior inspector in the occupied Colony No. 90, but after two weeks he received a promotion. According to his own report he became the head of a unit in the department of educational work with convicts. The suspect held this position until the liberation of Kherson.
Kolomoychenko is suspected under part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – voluntary occupation by a citizen of Ukraine of a position in illegal law enforcement bodies and under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – state treason.
