The former deputy of the Tarasivka village council from the Party of Regions, Mykola Novokhyzhnyi, has been notified of suspicion of collaborationist activity. According to the investigation, during the temporary occupation of Kherson region he voluntarily sided with Russian forces and took leadership positions in illegal authorities.
The text of the suspicion was published on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
The investigation established that Novokhyzhnyi no later than August 2023 accepted an offer from the occupation administration and became the so-called head of the territorial administration of the village Velyki Kopani within the structure of the Russian Federation’s Oleshky military-civilian administration. Later, after the reorganization of the illegal authority, he took the position of head of the territorial department of the villages Velyki Kopani and Dobrosillia in the administration of the so-called Oleshky municipal district.
Mykola Novokhyzhnyi is accused of collaborationist activity — the voluntary assumption by a citizen of Ukraine of a position with organizational-management and administrative-economic functions in occupation authorities. His actions were qualified under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Recall, in 2010 Novokhyzhnyi became a deputy of the then Tarasivka village council from the “Party of Regions”. From 2010 to 2016 he was the director of the municipal enterprise “Pryvitne” in the settlement of Brylivka. During the occupation he sided with the enemy and in September 2023 was “elected” a deputy of the fake Oleshky Duma.
On April 30, 2025 he was wounded as a result of a drone attack.
