70% of Kherson residents who are currently outside the community declare an intention to return.
This is stated in a survey conducted on behalf of the charitable organization «Community Foundation of the City of Kherson «Zakhyst».
40% are confident they will return, and only 4% said they definitely will not return.
“At the same time, the share of those settling in a new place is increasing: in 2024–2026 the number of those who definitely planned to return decreased by 16%,” — the foundation’s website notes.
The three main reasons Kherson residents cite for not returning are safety, a new job, and prospects for children at the new location. The influence of all these factors is increasing.
The online survey ran from March 5 to March 20, 2026. The sample consisted of 400 respondents.
