The occupying governor of Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, said that Russia’s goal is not only to seize the right-bank part of the region, but also the ideological “re-education” of local residents.
He told pro-Russian media this.
“Our goal is noble and just: we need to do everything to free the people who live in the right-bank part of Ukraine from the spirit that has invaded their minds and continues to interfere, which is instilled by Western ideologues and simply leads to the destruction of the individual, the destruction of one’s identity, the destruction of cultural traditions, the imposition of some foreign traditions and ideas that are by no means inherent to the people living in that territory”, – he said.
Before that, the region’s occupying governor had stated plans to return to Kherson.
