The court ordered the contracting company to return to the state budget more than UAH 357,000, which had been unjustifiably obtained during the restoration of damaged houses in the Kherson region.
This was reported on the social media pages of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
This concerns the major repair of a residential building in the village of Olhyne, Beryslav district, which was damaged as a result of the Russian Federation’s armed aggression.
During an inspection of contract performance, law enforcement officers established that the contractor was paid for part of the work that was actually not carried out. This was confirmed by a forensic construction and technical examination.
The court agreed with the arguments of the prosecutor’s office and satisfied the claim in full, issuing a decision to recover the funds in favor of the state.
In addition, within the criminal proceedings prosecutors have already sent to court an indictment against the head of the company that was restoring the house. He is accused of official forgery and misappropriation of budget funds under martial law (Part 4 of Art. 191, Part 1 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Recall that in 2022 the village of Olhyne in the Vysokopillia community was almost completely destroyed during hostilities. The Dnipropetrovsk region undertook to rebuild the village under the program “Shoulder-to-Shoulder”. As of 2024 120 people lived in the devastated village.
