During 2025, 423 marriages were officially registered in the Kherson region. This is one of the lowest figures among all regions of Ukraine.
This is stated in the response of the Ministry of Justice to an information request “Ukrainian Pravda. Life”.
At the same time, the region recorded the smallest number of divorces — only 85 cases for the year. For comparison, in the capital during the same period nearly 3.8 thousand couples divorced.
Over the past year, 366 children were born in the Kherson region. By this measure the region ranks last nationwide.
The most children were born in Kyiv (more than 19 thousand) and in Lviv region (15.8 thousand). The most marriages were registered in the capital (37.9 thousand) and in Dnipropetrovsk region (more than 19 thousand).
Overall in Ukraine during 2025 more than 165 thousand marriages were concluded, which is 15 thousand more than in the previous year. On the government-controlled territories of the country nearly 169 thousand children were born over the year.
