During the Cabinet of Ministers meeting on January 21, a payment mechanism for farmers in Kherson Oblast was approved.
This was reported by Member of Parliament Serhiy Kozyr.
According to the adopted decision, the state plans to pay farmers UAH 4,700 for each hectare of cultivated land. A cap on assistance has also been set: a single farm can receive compensation for no more than 2,000 hectares.
Payments are to be made by May 1, 2026
At the same time, one of the local farmers, speaking to journalists and preferring not to be named, noted that the real losses of farms today start at UAH 20,000 per hectare.
Note that in 2025 farmers of Kherson region lost nearly 60,000 hectares of crops. One of the significant reasons – drought.
