Four women from the Kherson region were honored by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on the occasion of Ukraine’s Unity Day.
This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
Actress and leading stage artist of the Kherson Regional Academic Music and Drama Theater named after Mykola Kulish, Tetiana Provorova, was awarded the Order of Princess Olga, 3rd class.
Physician of the Kherson Regional Territorial Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine, Maryna Shramkova, received the medal «For a Saved Life».
“For more than 26 years she has been saving the residents of the Kherson region and continues this work under constant Russian shelling. In just the past two years Mrs. Maryna has made almost 900 departures, including to the wounded as a result of enemy attacks”, – wrote Prokudin.
Head of a department of the Kherson Regional Hospital, Olena Korolenko, was awarded the honorary title «Honored Doctor of Ukraine». During the occupation of Kherson she provided medical care to wounded Ukrainian servicemen, and after the city’s liberation continued working here. During 2024 she performed over 1,000 surgeries, a significant part of which were related to treating the consequences of mine-explosive injuries to the eyes.
Acting rector of the Kherson Academy of Continuing Education, Iryna Zhorova, received the title «Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine».
“She has dedicated her work to the development of education and science in the Kherson region, is a respected scientist and educator. Over the years of her activity she has prepared more than 150 scientific works, and her managerial experience allowed the institution to maintain stable operation even under the conditions of the full-scale war”, – noted the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
