Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation have announced suspicion against a Kherson resident, Mykhailo Dolgopolov, who during the occupation sided with the Russian Federation and worked in the seized colony.
This is stated in the text of the charge published on the Prosecutor General’s Office website.
According to the investigation, Dolgopolov is originally from Crimea. Before the full-scale invasion he held the position of junior inspector of the supervision and security department at Daryivska Colony No. 10 in the Kherson region and held the rank of senior warrant officer of the internal service.
After the occupation of Kherson, Dolgopolov remained in the city and went over to cooperate with the occupation administration. In May 2022 he submitted an application requesting to be hired and was appointed to the position of junior inspector, 1st category, of the supervision group of the security department of the captured colony.
The investigation established that the suspect performed his duties in the interests of the occupiers until Kherson was liberated on November 11, 2022.
Dolgopolov is suspected under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason) and Part 7 of Article 111-1 (collaborationist activity). The investigation is ongoing.
